Here's a short clip of a successful bridging entry with a broken/fluid angle 1 - I feint with a broken 1 to measure the range and timing, and to draw my opponent's strike. I then immediately follow up with a fluid 1 to the head as I execute take-off footwork quartering to the left.
Sparring is how we validate our tactics in the PTK-SMF System - we actually make efforts to isolate specific tactics from our system and apply them in sparring. Although we spar full-contact, we emphasize highly technical execution of tactics, not the wild flailing mess seen in FMA nowadays. Fighting with edged weapons require higher levels of proficiency and control. Anyone can pick up a stick, swing it around and hit each other really hard like cavemen, but it takes discipline and finesse to fight with blades.
Through the guidance of Tuhon Tim Waid and the Mataas Na Guros, the PTK-SMF training methodology is helping us learn and improve on how we apply these tactics.
