The Military Edge-Impact Weapons System/PTK-CQC is derived from the core Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system and is currently being taught to the Philippine military and law enforcement personnel, as well as all over the world.
Initially developed by Tuhon Tim Waid with Grandtuhon Leo T. Gaje Jr., the program was first instituted in 1998 as the official military close-quarter combat system by the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) Force Recon Battalion, for which he was awarded the Sumakwilan Award For Excellence In Instructional Leadership and the Grandtuhon Conrado B. Tortal Crimson Award. The Military Edge-Impact Weapons System/PTK-CQC was later incorporated by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Scout Rangers. As of 2011, it became the official military CQC program of the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Tuhon Tim Waid served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps (USMC). His military experience and undeniable mastery of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali tactics gave credibility to the system as an effective war-fighting system for the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Many individuals who now have careers teaching PTK Edge-Impact Weapons programs to military units and law enforcement owe their successes to the foundations established by Tim Waid, whether they care to admit it or not.
